Spring and the blossoms are approaching and so the patio furniture can finally be put outside again. But what should you take into account when furnishing your terrace for the coming season? Do you choose high or low patio tables? For an aluminum or steel frame? And which type of table top should you choose? With these tips & tricks, your patio will be completely ready for the new patio season.

TIP 1: Choose the right material

This is often a stumbling block. You see a beautiful steel table, but after a rain shower it seems as if your patio furniture has suffered a disaster. Our tips:

  • Aluminum and polypropylene are ideal for outdoor furniture! It can withstand different weather conditions and does not rust.
  • Choose UV-resistant products to prevent discoloration in the summer.*
  • Go for to kisss that are water permeable, dirt and UV resistant. Panic during rain showers is a thing of the past.

*UV-resistant furniture can still discolour after long-term and intensive use.

TIP 2: Play with heights, lows and cozy corners

Always maintain an overview of your terrace and create an atmosphere. Height differences help with this. The use of different styles also creates a summery and pleasant atmosphere.

Choose easy-to-use, comfortable chairs and tables to transform your patio into a relaxing holiday destination. Set up nice corners with lots of cushions and a striking, cozy collection. For example with a Rattan collection you create a summer Bohemian atmosphere.

TIP 3: Choose the right table top

An untreated wooden table top can be beautiful, but with prolonged outdoor use it can rot or warp. Our tips:

  • Go for an HPL table top (high pressure laminate).
  • Avoid a black decor, because dirt and scratches are quickly visible. Choose special decors.
  • Rustic decor is trendy. For example, a HPL rust or HPL-Italian stone table top. No scratches, no dirt, no stress... and comfortable to sit on.

TIP 4: Think about maintenance

Choose easy-care materials, such as PP and PE chairs (polypropylene or polyethylene) and aluminum tables. No hassle with cleaning. A soft brush or cloth with some lukewarm water is sufficient.

TIP 5: Think about storage

Is your patio outside all winter? Then consider stackable, foldable or nestable furniture for easy storage. But also make sure that your furniture is not too light, so that it does not blow away in the summer breeze.

EXTRA TIP: Buy local and request samples

Ask for samples before purchasing to ensure the patio furniture suits you and the environment. Test the products before purchasing and collect customer feedback. Buying locally is not only good for the environment, but also ensures fast and good service. With these tips you are ready to create a beautiful terrace! Do you want extra advice?
